As FIFA Partner, Sony will energetically promote advertising and marketing activities at over 40 FIFA events including the most-watched football event in the world, the FIFA World Cup™(scheduled to take place in South Africa in 2010 and South America in 2014), the FIFA Women's World Cup, the FIFA Confederations Cup and the FIFA Interactive World Cup.

The highest level of sponsorship status, a FIFA Partner is chosen to represent a defined industry or a number of business categories. Sony was selected for the Digital Life category. Established in 2007, this category spans a wide variety of business activities ranging from entertainment to electronics.

The signing of the global partnership program between Sony and FIFA will run from 2007 to 2014.
